Important Information to Consider

If you need to register to vote on Election Day, go to your local clerk’s office.

Bring the necessary documents when you register.

If you choose to vote in person on Election Day, remember that in Michigan your polling place is determined by where you live. You can find your polling place at the Michigan Voter Information Center.

Bring your ID. You will be asked to provide a photo ID when you vote. MCards are acceptable IDs, as well as Driver’s Licenses, other state IDs, and passports. If you don’t have a photo ID, you can still vote—you’ll just need to sign an affidavit.

Bring a sample ballot or notes with you into the voting booth to help you fill it out. If you vote in a polling place, you can’t take your ballot home with you so it is a good idea to be prepared with a sample ballot.
